Draft Frameworks


The qualifications are constructed from core units - which must be successfully completed - and optional units. These units are worth between 1 and 3 credits.

To obtain an HNC in Computer Games Development, a student must complete the HNC Core units plus sufficient optional units to total 12 unique credits.

To obtain an HND in Computer Games Development, a student must complete the HNC Core, the HND Core and sufficient optional units to total 30 credits.

Some sections, listed below, have further limitations and/or requirements that affect a student obtaining their qualification but please note that you cannot count the credits for a unit twice even if that unit appears in more than one of the sections listed below.



HNC Core

Computing: Planning - Existing - 1 credit
Working Within A Project Team - Existing - 1 credit

HND Core
Games Development: Graded Unit 2 - New - 2 credits
Games Development: Object Oriented Programming - New - 3 credits
3D Modelling and Animation - Existing - 2 credits
Project Management for IT - Existing - 1 credits

Content Selection
You must select a minimum of one unit from the following list for either qualification.

Mathematics Selection
You must select at least one unit from the following list for HNC and an additional one unit from the following list for HND
